Facebook announced the Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset during the Facebook Connect VR event on Thursday.

The new full wireless headset will be released on Oct. 13, with pre-orders starting September 16. Oculus Quest 2 starts at $ 299.

Some of the more impressive features are the new Oculus Quest with a higher resolution display with 50% more pixels at 1832 x 1920 pixels per face. The display is the only LCD that allows for high resolution and better visuals and has 90Hz supports. There are also improvements in the software: Oculus Quest 2 is a Qualcomm SSyeed napdragon XR2 with 6GB of memory, making it easy to switch between all-in-one and PC VR games.

Externally, the Oculus Quest 2 is smaller and 10% lighter than the previous generation and with a flexible cable and is completely wireless. Adjustable sockets are also available so you can customize your device to your needs. The new Touch controllers that come with the device will show the best hands-on experience in offering excellent ergonomics and long battery life.

Oculus Quest 2 has other accessories that you can buy such as Fit Pack which has swappable interface to match wider or narrower lanes and Elite Strap and Elite Strap with Battery offering double game time .

Another new feature in Oculus Quest 2 is a level-level fitness tracker that can monitor the amount of exercise you receive while playing games on the Quest. An additional dashboard feature called Oculus Move will begin testing on both Quest devices later this year, which will allow you to set up your VR fitness booths and let you track your movement and physical activity across different games and apps.

The headset replaces the old Quest, which marked how it was discontinued earlier this year. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said during Thursday’s event that people have spent more than $ 150 million on Quest content.
