If you work in a remote team, you need an effective way to communicate. Even internal teams can access popular workspaces, such as Slack or Microsoft teams. Both at the top of the workplace market, you need to consider which one is right for you.

Depending on the characteristics you have, you may already have a clear winner in mind. If not, you can read our guide to find out what works best for you.

Communication skills

Both Slack and Microsoft teams offer similar chat topics for messages, including plain text և tagging. Both support GIFs, and Teams just provide a more powerful way to get your message across. For example, to insert a GIF into your Slack message, you must enter a command such as “/ giphy image name”.

Microsoft Team Mem Generator

In the teams below you will find a toolbar that provides access to a library of GIF և tags. Furthermore, click the Stick button to create a custom meme. Slow doing offer integration with Bitmoji և similar services, but it իկ is not easily accessible, as Teams see it.

When it comes to message interface customization, Slack offers a better variety. You can switch between light and dark themes to change the overall look. For a more customized feel, you can change the colors of the ribs between different preset options that complement your overall theme or create a custom theme.

At the same time, the Microsoft client is simply switching between three common themes. Default (light), dark և high contrast. There are no specific color options, despite the client’s Windows-based roots.

Price models:

Both applications offer freemium models, which is especially attractive for small businesses who want to save money.

Slack offers unlimited public և private channels, file sharing, 5 GB storage և 10 application integration. The free app also locks the history of your visible, searchable messages in 10,000 posts. However, there is no indication that the free Slack app limits the number of users who can access your workspace.

At the same time, the “Teams” platform offers unlimited messages, guest access, screen sharing, more than 250 integrated applications և services, և 2 GB space for each person (10 GB total).

Naturally, both services offer premium packages. The cost of the Slack Standard package is $ 6.67 per person per month when calculated annually. It adds unlimited applications, increases storage up to 10 GB per member և lets you share the screen. You have access to the entire message history. You fall even more. The Slack’s Plus plan costs $ 12.50 per person per year. It adds, among other updates, up to 20 GB of storage per member. There is also a Business Plan that offers 1 TB of space per member, although you need to call Slack Sales for pricing.

Microsoft Teams offers three premium plans. It costs $ 5 per user per year, while Microsoft 365 Business Basic is estimated at $ 300 per user per year, but increases the reserve by up to 10 GB per license. This plan also adds OneDrive integration, Exchange email hosting, meeting logs, Microsoft support, and more. The Microsoft 365 Business Standard program retains a maximum of 300 users, but adds desktop versions of productivity programs such as Word, Excel, and Publisher. You still get 10 GB for one license. This plan is estimated at $ 12.50 per month per user per year.

Finally, Office 365 E3 is $ 20 per user per month, when calculated annually, ային a massive increase in the number of users (500,000!). Strange as it may seem, the free app also offers a maximum of 500,000 users. Office 365 E3 also offers online event hosting for up to 10,000, unlimited file attachments in chat և unlimited personal cloud storage.

Storage Limits:

As mentioned earlier, the free Slack model includes 5 GB of storage per team. Paid plans increase the size to 10 GB, 20 GB or 1 TB for each user, depending on the program. For the free version, there is also a 10,000-page cover story that disappears for paid versions.

The free Microsoft Teams model offers a total of 10 GB of total storage for the team. Switching to Business Basic, Business Standard, or Office 365 E3 plans for the entire organization increases the reserve to 1TB – “plus a 10 lb license.” There are no message history restrictions in teams.

Integrated applications

Free Slack mode limits application integration to 10. This lock is in paid plans, և here businesses can take full advantage of more than 2200 integration features of Slack applications. If you use another productivity app in the workplace, there is a very good chance that it is compatible with Slack.

Microsoft’s Teams platform takes a different approach. It offers unlimited integration with other programs for all pricing levels, but only supports around 250 programs. However, the Teams doing have the best integration with Microsoft 365, considering that it is designed to work perfectly with the Microsoft staff. This may be the most important consideration for businesses running Microsoft 365.

Web conference

Slack’s free app offers unlimited 1 to 1 voice or video calls. However, if you need additional callers to one conference, you need a paid plan that supports up to 15 simultaneous callers.

At the same time, teams have much higher chances of web conferencing. At all levels, including the free version, you can have online or video conferencing meetings with up to 300 people. Teams also հնարավորություն offer the ability to record meetings (which Slack does not do) և Provides screen sharing (which Slack has only in premium classes). This benefits the team or larger companies where these types of conferences are popular.

Help bots

Microsoft team bots

Both platforms support bots. In Slack, Slackbot is a personal chat window for keeping links, testing new integrations, asking general questions, and viewing more information. For example, you can send a private message to Slackbot և ask: “How do I change the colors?” It then searches the Help Center for links to several related articles.

The free version of Microsoft Teams does not include built-in bots. Instead, find premium models inside the Microsoft WhoBot. It contains Graph AI, which is used to gather more information about specific teams or employees, such as their professions, managers, departments, etc. WhoBot also answers common questions with suggestions from employees who need help or teams.

That said, both services include a built-in “storage” to detect and install additional bots that support productivity applications such as Trello, Zoom, Cisco Webex, GitHub, Adobe Creative Cloud, and more.

Platform compatibility

Slack is currently available on these platforms.

You can capture Microsoft teams for these platforms. The interesting thing here is that Microsoft does not even offer a native Windows program, just a traditional desktop client.

You can also use Slack և Microsoft Teams as a web-based application in any modern browser.

Which partnership application wins?

Both Slack and Microsoft teams are great chat programs for organizations and companies. After all, the choice between the two depends on what you are looking for in a partnership program. If you need some kind of app integration, double check with Slack և Teams to see if they support your app (s).

Overall, Slack is a little more familiar, a little more “comfortable” as it has been managing the collaboration package for so many years. This is also an independent program that can work better for a group that is more platform-agnostic. Therefore, it is an ideal choice for most business teams looking for a reliable tool for collaboration.

Microsoft teams, however, certainly have their place. Better for bigger, more complex companies. If the company is already subscribed to Office or Microsoft 365, teamwork is a great feature in terms of features: pricing. In particular, more stable team video conferencing should be a huge attraction for companies with long-distance employees around the world.
