The frustration of online shopping that is Amazon Prime Prime Day is upon us once again, with customers around the world preparing to offer cash on all kinds of discounted prices.
If you are one of those committees to make the most of Object Day (or Prime Days – the event takes place on October 13 and 14), then chances are you will have a lot more cardboard boxes coming your way.
With that in mind, Amazon has come up with a new app that lets you give some fun out of those boxes before throwing them into a recycle clip.
Called Amazon Wide Reality (can you guess what it is yet?), The free iOS and Android app works with QR codes on Amazon boxes for what the company describes such as “communicative, non-judgmental, increased reality experiences.”
A video (above) shows some of the games you can have by downloading the app. While the video focuses on a Halloween theme, screenshots from the app (below) suggest that there is a lot of content.
Kids are guaranteed to experience Amazon’s True Reality experience, in fact, they can have more fun with the box than its contents.

To use the feature, open the app, point your camera at the QR code on the Amazon box, and wait for your display to break into the world.
“If your device supports TrueDepth technology, the app will also use your digital camera to track your eye movements to enhance certain features such as our selfie mode,” Amazon said, adding that all the information we work on is use technology “is on your device and will not be stored, operated, or shared by Amazon. ”
Prime members looking for business should check out the regular shopping guides of Digital Trends that aim at the appearance of some of the best trades available in the next 48 hours.
Discounts can be found on everything from smartphones, laptops, and tablets to headphones, smart home gear, and toys. Some trades are already underway in the Amazon hours before the start of Prime Day.
